This year, local students will be propelled into
The Reading System. This not-so-distant space cluster consists of The Math Planet, The Geography Planet, The Language Planet, and The History Planet.
Each evening, local Reading Stars will soar through the Times-Star with their flight crews (family members) completing mission directives (assignments) to earn
BUCK$ (the payload) which they will spend on the Right Stuff (cool prizes) offered by local businesses.

Help us bring
BOOK BUCK$ to local classrooms by sharing the cost of newspapers for the students. Your contribution will sponsor newspaper delivery at the special not-for-profit school rate. $500 will enable 1,000 students to participate! Your donation may be tax-deductible - consult your tax advisor. Program materials, support services and newspaper space will be donated by the Alameda Times-Star.
